About TRP
We believe Fort Wayne is a welcoming community and work to build bridges between it and resettled refugees through educational activities such as:
- Training volunteer ESL teachers
- CitiLink bus route/riding training
- Movie/Discussion Nights with refugee focus
We also promote integration through advocacy activities such as:
- Circle of Friends (friendship building)
- Housing Development
- “10 Campaign” promoting awareness of the refugee decade (coming 2010)
TRP is also reclaiming the Rialto Theater as a venue to further empower the development of our refugee community and assist in their integration into the Fort Wayne community by providing a historically beloved space for community events. From large group cultural events, to office, education, and meeting space, to an international cafe area, our hope is to see the old Rialto Theater building once again be a gathering point for Fort Wayne residents, new and old, to learn from each other and develop together.
